Where does this vac line go to?

Hey guys,
Just putting my manifold back together after replacing some vacuum lines and the injectors. I have everything sorted out as far as where all the lines go to since I labeled them. But there is just this one line I can't seem to find where it goes to, and I labeled it too! I can't find the nipple where it would even go to. BTW, it's an '88 turbo.

Alright, it's a 6mm hose, not 3.5mm. It is the middle of the three hoses that come off of the rear side of the UIM.

I attached a picture I have been trying to use for reference, but it shows only the lines for after emissions.

It's the only hose I can't find where it goes, and it's so frustrating! Ahh, I bet it's really simple. Haha oh well, please let me know if you knw where it goes.

Thanks,
Jordan

IIRC its either for the fuel pressure reg, or it goes to the nipple between the oil injectors on the LIM.

Well I know it doesn't go to the FPR, but I'll have to check inbetween the oil injectors. The only thing is, I thought all the vac lines from the oil injectors were routed together with the injector bleeds then out to one hose? You know, that goofy 4 to 1 hose apparatus? haha

FPR doesnt come off the throttle body, it comes off the vac rack.

The oil injectors use the smaller, 3.5mm hose.

well they all group up into a 4 to 1 connector, and that 4 to 1 connector uses the bigger vac line...

That nipple yo uare talking about is behind both oil injectors, right? Not inbetween, because I don't see anything inbetween and the length of the hose is too short to reach the nipple you're talking about. The line from that hipple goes to the top nipple of the three on the rear of the UIM.

So it's not to the FPR, the oil injector itself, or the nipple behind the oil injectors.

Hmmmm... that makes sense... but why was able to fit a 3.5mm hose in it? I'm going to go see if those two hose lengths match up.

Yeah... just checked but 3.5mm seems like the right fit. And the hose coming from the 4 needs to be long, and I have it cut short, about 4 or 5 inches. And this is matched to the old hose length.

Gosh, I wish I had a laptop to take out to the garage so I don't have to run out there, come back in, run back out, and so on. Pretty cold too...

Alright, sorry, I guess it was a little haha. I went back out and checked and you're right. But because you're right, I now have this other 3.5mm hose(the one I thought went on the 4-1 thing) and I think it goes to this plastice nipple from the throttle body but I don't know where it goes to now. I'll try and show you... it's the nipple on the yellowish/tan piece in the front of the picture I took. I don't know what it's called though.

It's in the lower left corner of that picture with a black line coming from it, if that helps.

Ahhhh the top, thats what I was thinking. My bad on that one....

And yes that was the one I was talking about. I suppose it is a little behind them, but in-between gives a good idea of where its at

Haha, don't worry about it, there's so many little things on these cars, it's hard to keep track of everything.

Is it the water thermovalve the thing I'm talking about? There are two vacuum hoses from that, correct?

Anyone know where that vacuum line goes to?

Lots of pics on this thread, but it's hard to see the lines you're asking about...

The bottom nipple of the three that are one above the other, goes to the water thermovalve in your picture. The other nipple on that waterthermo valve goes to the double throttle diaphram. See the online FSM for locations.

How come I only have 3 nipples on the rear of the intake? Because if there were 4, I don't think I would still be having trouble with this.

I GUESS it MIGHT be because they eliminated the SubZero system and did not need that top nipple anymore. I really don't KNOW.

No matter. Three or four, only one has vacuum and that always the bottom one that goes to the water thermowax to the left of those four/three nipples.
