Where does this line go/other q's

1) Coming from over by the brake MC there is a hard coolant line, which stops directly above the transmission. Is there susposed to be a soft line that runs to the nipple about 8in away (looks like the same size)? Or does it go some where else? I do not have a digicam so dont ask for pics Its a 3/8 hard line and comes across from the drivers side and then down the firewall and stops directly above the transmission.

2) I removed the charcoal canister, where should I vent the line that comes from the gas tank? Just stick some vac line and run it to behind the front drivers tire (away from everything hot?)

3) Where is that plug you jumper to make the fuel pump run constantly when the key is to ON? Want to test/look for leaks before the UIM goes on.

4) Not a problem, just something wierd. Plugged in the CAS, went in my car to test turbo timer (turned key to ON) and rpm gauge flew upto 3k (car was NOT running) and the primaries were constantly firing. I removed/plugged the CAS back in and its not doing it anymore. Wierd

Im sure Im going to have more in a little while

That sounds like the vacuum feed to the brake MC...it connects to a soft line on the dynamic chamber, by the throttle body (? shaped hose, thick). IF you have coolant running to this, Id like to see that bitch when you try to stop

I would just leave it open air vented. If you were worried about fumes, you would have left the charcoal canister, which takes up very little space and weighs less than 2lb.

Right where the engine harness meets the strut tower behind the AFM...

Im not really worried about fumes polluting the environment. I am however concerned about venting them beside an engine thats 180F

lol I cant find the stock hose or Im sure it would be easier to locate The other end of the hose is coming off that black thing on the firewall.

I didnt say or think you were worried about the environment. What I meant was that if you were worried about fumes (near the engine) you would have left the canister there, as that is what it does. Why remove it then try to devise another ventilation system of your own, that is bound to be in the way?

Regardless, I have run cars with no canister at all with no problems, but it depends on your level of personal paranoia...

Yeah, the black thing is your brake booster, which requires vacuum, not coolant. Ill put it this way, there are NO coolant leads anywhere on the upper firewall, save the 2 5/8" heatercore outlets.

well here is an 89 pic. the 2 big rubber hoses you see are the heater hoses. the metal pipe facing straight down that is not pluged in is for the brake booster which goes to the upper intake
