Where does everyone buy their parts?
Where does everyone buy their parts?
I've noticed that rotary owners (usually wisely) avoid the dealer at all costs.
Even parts from them are vastly overpriced. I'm wondering where everyone buys parts!
For instance, I want to buy a new fuel pump and in-tank filter, but I have no clue where to look!
So where do you guys buy your basic parts?

I bought my waterpump through advance auto parts here in Pensacol. My thermostat was bought through mazda directly with a discount (friend works there.)
It's not that expensive, depedning what you buy, but most things that need to be fixed on the motor, i've been told you need to do OEM parts....
For something like a fuel pump / in-take filter ... do what rx7guy said... through MC or MF....

Actually, I buy a lot of parts from the dealer, at least I know that they are new and exactly the right fit...
The other place for OEM parts is from this forum or Ebay, just have to be careful about their condition!

I bought some poly suspension bushings from nopi.com for a good price, and I'll probably be buying some lines from corksport.
The only thing I've bought fron the dealer was a couple rubber bushings.

They're like the regular bushings, but red and stiffer.
It's going to take me a while to get mine in. I maybe end up doing shocks at the same time.
It's just the main suspension stuff though, no engine mounts or anything.

Nopi has a lot of great stuff straight from japan. And their markup isn't high at all. Check out www.nopionline.com I bought a Tokico clutch hydraulics set from them for about $60. Same stuff on the car, but like half the price.

Big stuff or long service life items like transmisions, rear axle, hubs, engine parts, interior, etc. - basically anything that would be $$$ from a dealer, I find in Ebay, here in the classifieds, or at a salvage yard.
Engine parts, Atkins Rotary, Rotary Aviation (apex seals), Mcmaster-carr for coolant O rings, and if you really need something new for the interior, or just a specialty tool (flywheel nut wrench), Mazdatrix.
Then there are all the generic parts like nuts / bolts / etc. that comes from a hardware store or Napa. I got my thermostat and water pump from Napa and they have been trouble free.

Anything stock, right down to a given Bolt, I go to Morningside Mazda. I receive a 20% discount on anything I get from there. For all other parts, the RX-7 Store. They've been very fair In helping out. Most times than others, buying locally, I go to Saber Performance. They give me 20% off on anything I choose to buy. Kurt Is good like that.
