Where do I splice into my dash lights wire??

Hi,

I need to tap into the wire that lights up the dash when the headlights are on, so I can splice my gauges' lights into that too.

Where from the fusebox, or anywhere else, would I splice into that wire so my gauges will light up when the headlights come on???

N

lightbulb by the cig. lighter (ash tray light)
that way the dimmer will work too with the gauges.

it should be a red black wire in driver kick panel you will see 12volts when you turn on the lights put a 10 amp fuse on that wire

OK Cool thanks. The car came without a dash in it, and most of the wiring gutted behind where the dash was, I had to manually wire the gauges and instrument cluster to where it all worked again, so the cigarette lighter light wiring would be gone....

but the wires coming right out of the fuseboxes are all there so I'll fish around to see if the one behind the kickpanel is still intact, thanks!
