Although I do agree that you would have more solid boost build, I mean the stock TID is like rubber is it not? I would think that it would expand and contract more than metal
Er wait a minute, is this not the pipe that connects the turbo to the intercooler???
I wish I had a mandral bender, I would then make my own piping for everything in the car.. that would be nice.

The TID experiences no boost, only a very slight vac. What it's made of has no effect on boost.

Here's some pics of my TID. I used a 3" 90deg mandrel bend that was sectioned and TIG-welded back together to get a the AFM sit more level than it would with a plain 45deg bend. You can see how the middle bit of the bend was discarded and the two end sections rotated relative to their original orientation (note the alignment marks).
The stock BOV is plumbed back into it, add I plan to add another fitting for an air/oil seperator. There's a bracket supporting the AFM from underneath. I only did this recently and I haven't had a chance to make a new heat shield yet. It's still at the cardboard prototype stage awaiting some free time.

wow that's nice. I'll agree that two 90* bends are the greatest flowing bends known to man. But it worked perfectly with my Intake...didn't break like stock and was an Improvement.

yeah it's an s4 and it already came with the nipple on it so it all worked perfectly. I would recomend going this route as it is cheap and has everything needed for the install except the hacksaw. Also it has enough tubing to make a cold air intake through where the washer bottle goes.
