Where to buy: S5 motor

I need your help, dudes. I've got a 91 vert here that needs a new motor (thanks to some shade tree ************ that grounded the low water sensor). The owner wants a new motor; I'd like to rebuild. I can't blame her... she needs this thing running ASAP.

She called a few places, ended up talking to RP. They want ~$1500 for a reman, and will give $500 back for a core. I could've sworn somebody stopped by my shop and was telling about a place in Houston (maybe?) that sold JDM-tyte engines for less than that. I wanna say he told me he was getting a complete turbo setup for ~$1100 or so. Don't need a turbo setup, but I figure if their turbo setups are that much surely an N/A is cheaper, eh?

I don't particularly want to change this engine twice (the second time for free) so a source for known good remans and/or pulls would be nice. For this reason, no replies that contain "Atkins" anywhere in them. Thanks.

There were no N/a FCs sold in Japan.

He said he needs to get the car back running ASAP. Getting a anything more than a NA will require more work suchs as a full TII swap to go with the 13bt if they want it done right.

Thanks for the info, guys. The owner had called RP and they indicated to her they could sell her a motor. When my dad called this afternoon, they don't sell engines unless they install them (for warranty purposes... can't blame them). So it looks like I'll just rebuild the sucker!

I've rebuilt plenty of 12A's... is there any special trick to 13B's? I'm pretty sure I've got a shop manual sitting around somewhere, just thought I'd check and make sure there aren't any snags I'll find out when I've got it's guts spread out on the teardown bench.

I know the man that came up with the idea for 5 bazillion vacuum lines on this car, and his name is Satan.

Motor's almost out... just gotta get the A/C and undercar stuff loose. Wee.

Well since we are calling folks out......

Whats all this **** about you having all this race technology yet a 13b rebuild eludes you??

Call up Mazdatrix and have them red label you some parts. and put the motor together uber quick......cause you are the uber race motor guru per your web site.

Man, I thought the guys on Queer Eye were a bunch of sissy's

OBTW if your customer wants a rebuild I'll do it this week for a lot less than a reman.

Here is a bit of reserch, just go on the archives and look at the 13B rebuild thread from karack and follow dDubs recipe for part an you have the parts for less than $500 bux....retail....oh I forgot you have a shop maybe you could get better pricing. and then again by the tone of your clueless questions maybe you should just get a reman for your customer.

If you need any further help here is a document......not that you deserve MY help

Shane at Rotaryworks ripped us off, got months of advertising in RX Tuner and then disappeared never paying his bill. Now his number has been disconnected for a long time, and he doesn't answer email. Yet another scammer in the rotary world, just what we need

Well, that's what we thought too. But Brian has made every effort to contact him for months and months with no reply.
