Exclamation Where to buy 3 inch mufflers!?

I have looked forever. I am going to go with a custom 3 inch strait pipe. I have found inline mufflers, but I want one for the back with a tip. Preferably the N1 style. I cant find them anywhere . All I can find are 2.5 inch inlets. It is really pissing me off. Where has everyone else got their 3 inch mufflers at?

I'll be going with a Dynomay superflow, it's round, the structure is made out of SS (not the sides though), it's been proven in the rotary community, cost is about $100, and you can get it in almost any size and anywhere!

www.summitrqacing.com
www.Jegs.com

Now I don't know where you can get you hands on a 4 inch N1 style tip

Go to CorkSport if you can not weld and buy the 3inch cat-back system. If you can weld I know Borla has some sweet mufflers that you can weld right to the exhaust and not have to worry about a tip. The mufflers are stainless steal and look good.

Why dont you go to any car parts site and look up a real apexi n1 or dunk (turbo version) mufflers. they have 3 inch inlets. It will also set you back around 200 a muffler.

I haven't heard the Corksport, but MOST people have said that it is extremly LOUD!! That's the main reason why I hessitant about it, that and the 2.5 inlet, and then the driver side exit.

You can probably have a full custom 3 inch exhaust for $200

including muffler???? i dont think so because 3 inch tubing is expensive compared to 2.5. Plus the corksport is just as loud as APEXi so whatever floats your boat.

I agree with that they are both loud. I have the CorkSport exhaust on my N/A, its a little loud. I have heard the same exhaust on a turbo and it was nowhere near as loud. The turbos impellers(SP?) do a great job of muffling the exhaust noise.

Apparently not as a quiet as a custom Dynomax 3 inch single setup.

Do you run a header or a stock manifold and is your motor ported or not? Those all will add to the loud exhaust.

Any suggestions on what to do with an 88 vert? Car has the stock exhaust. I'm not looking to totally trick out and don't want the car to be too loud, but would like a slight increase in HP and a better sound note.

You can buy a Apexi N1 muffler with 3 inch for ~$200

Call any apexi dealer, they can sell them, you want the Universal 3" muffler

Hope that helps..

There are some..

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=15746
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=25217
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=2155

You can really use any muffler.. even an inline one.. that is what most mufflers are.. just have a tail pipe welded onto it at a exhaust shop..
