maybe if you mentioned model and year, someone would be able to help, as the amp location is different for almost each model and year.

And I do not know what your cloresteral count is or the condition of your arteries to know if you need a double bypass.

On a 87 Turbo, the front/dash speakers amp is below the glove box, attached to the passengers speaker.

On the 87 Turbo: If you have 6 inch rear speakers, then the amp is part of the head unit assembly for the rear speakers. If you have 4 " rear speakers, the amps are built int each rear speaker.

On the 87 Turbo: If you have door speakers the amp for them is next to the power steering computer under the drivers side dash.

And as far as internal amp on the head unit dieing, if it is stock it is pretty rare to have the op amps or chip amps die.

no its a pioneer head unit from like 1995. i think i might buy a new head unit, hook it up the right way with all the right diagrams. and if that is still fucked up, ill return the head unit becuase ill know by proccess of elimination that its not the head units problem its the electrical work

Couold you tell me the same thing for a 86 GXL? One rear speaker works and the other kicks in sometimes, if that helps any. I dont know a lot about audio so it might be something else.

dudes, the Mazda wire colors are in the FAQ for FC.

This is pretty simple stuff.

If your head unit has more than 15 watts a channel, then you will need to bypass the amps. Do it at the amps.

And as far as wire colors coming out of Pioneer head units, just look at any pioneer. They all have the same colors. Red for Acc, Yellow for 12Volts, Black for ground.... etc... are the most common
