The fuel filter should be changed every 30K miles or 24 months which ever comes first.

Failure to do so leads to clogged fuel injectors and flooding.

Why would that cause flooding? Explain in detail. I would think just the opposite would happen.

Because the filter when clogged and full of dirt doesn't stop fuel flow.

Some dirt will start working its way through the filter and clog the injectors.

then you will have flooding

If you don't know how old the fuel filter is then you should replace it.

If you just acquired the car, you should change all fluids as well ( diff, trans, engine oil, air &fuel filter, coolant). Basic maintenance will avoid problems.
Cheap and steel braided lines? Isn't that an oximoron? LOL

Anyway, try Summitt. They have free shipping and prices aren't bad but be warned, you need to use AN fittings for the braided lines and adapter for the stock fuel lines and rails. I've spent about $400 on that alone.
If you don't plan on modifying the car too much, you can just replace the stock lines and use Aeroquip "Fire Sleeve" to keep them protected from heat. That'll keep the lines cool.
