When I install my header.........

Do I need to worry about heat effecting the ECU in the stock location?

Na, there will be no such worries needed. Maybe the only problem is the o2 sensor wire might touch the header and become burnt. Make sure the O2 wire is tucked away. Other than that make sure you open your 5/6 ports as soon as you put that header on with that high flow cat and exhaust. If not your actually going to run slower than stock due to lack in backpressure.
