Heres some shots from my recent caliper rebuild... i had an extra set of fronts... so heres what i did....

Jeez, splitting the caliper body is pretty hard core- did you need to hone the piston bores or were you just that bored?

@micaheli...my calipers (purchased from the classifieds) are that color, even down to the black highlighted "Mazda"- and look pretty sweet with my Blaze Red paint.

Not that you can really tell what with the Hawks trying to make everything "Brake Dust Black".

haha... in daylight and in real life, they are dark bronze... and they look wicked.... the pics arent great, i admit.... they will be going on a charcoal S4, with charcoal rims and a full wide body kit... its a vision. in my brain.. haha

truuuue story! but the nice part is, with high temp clear coat, it i dust/rinse them every so often, they shouldn't get anywhere near as grimy as they were

haha, yeah, not really, just was a 6 month lazy spare time project... it was fun! Im pretty happy with the color, glad to know no everyone hates bronze!

wow... ALMOST A YEAR LATER.. installed and happy... pics still show a bit more of a saturated color... but i really like them... still...

that is very nice, looks like time went in to painting the mazda black, i have painted mine red with white lettering. i also believe in our brakes considering they are 4 piston, so there is no need to get different calipers. thats why i've saved mine as well, haha grimy ....sounds only half as bad as mine were. grimy is to nice of a word, mine were just plain naasty from the last owner.

Thanks guys.. i drove it right after.. i must fully endorse the Russel Speed bleeders that i read about on this forum.. SOOO easy to bleed.. and the new Hawk pads are great... so far so good! lets hope for no leaky calipers.. ( first time i ever rebuilt a caliper)
