when doing exhaust...do you NEED an FCD???

If I were to put in a 3" turboback exhaust and have no need/desire to run more than stock boost....I would think that an FCD would not be required.
Is that correct?
I just want to increase reliability and NOT blow my engine.

but the fuel cut should stop me from running more than stock boost
only problem I can see is that full boost kicks in at like 5000rpm & will limit me from using the entire power band

yes there is the potential to lean out and detonate....you car wont cut fuel anymore, but it also wont be able to compensate the extra boost with the extra fuel needed unless you get a different fuel pump and injectors

Unless you have a boost controller you will be running more than stock boost with a 3" turboback exaust.

the fact is, the stock WG doesn't flow enough to limit the boost with that exhaust. If you had an external WG you could keep the boost anywhere you wanted, but the stock internal one gets overwhelmed easily.
if you up the boost, you are going to have to mod the fuel system sooner or later, but if you port the WG, you can get a boost controller and keep the boost down without creeping and without upgrading fuel.
