when do u know your running lean?

ok. i got a a/f meter and egt to see if im running lean or not. currently running 11psi with hks turbo upgrade and hks fmic. tell you the truth, damn hks sport upgrade turbo is totally not worth the money. anyways, i have no more money and would like to make my car as fast as possible without blowing it up and still using the hks turbo upgrade. i dont think its much larger than stock. i do think it has a to4 compressor housing tho, its stamped onto the turbo but dont know the wheel size.

anyways, i am seeing around 820-830 celcius on my egt....the probe is mounted inside the manifold. i know most ppl mount it in the downpipe but the idiot who installed it put it in the manifold. its probably more accurate but....oh whell. anyways, i have asked around and ppl say the temp in the manifold is about 100 celcius less than in the downpipe. so if it were in the downpipe it would probably read about 720-750celcius. is this safe? i have heard that on rotaries it is safe under 800celcius. i dont really trust the a/f meter. its on the first rich led but those damn things aint accurate anyways.

my mods:
HKS sport turbo upgrade(11psi)
HKS FMIC
2.5" RB downpipe/no cats/crushbent 2.25 y-pipe/straite thru cans
intake
bov
MSD 6a & MSD wires
boost/water temp/EGt/fuel press guages
Profec A boost controller
Walbro pump with fuel pump rewired
850cc secondaries

no SAFC and yeah, when the secondaries come on when im not flooring it, the car runs like crap.

i raced a 88 Ann ED with a fresh motor and 3" pipes all the way to the back. i pulled on him on the top end but i wasnt able to walk away easily. i would like to do that.

what can i do? with a SAFC, does it look like i would be able to get more power out of my car? What would u guys suggest?

i was thinking of the TID mod but my turbo is different and i may require different pipings rather than the ones described all over the forum. a cold air intake would help alot i would think.

but i was mostly thinking about a full 3" exhaust all the way to the back. i mean, with my **** exhaust BUT with hks turbo and hks fmic and ported engine, i wasnt able to walk away from the 88 ann ed. easily. would a 3" help alot on my setup?

do u guys think my boost will raise if i change from my **** setup to a 3"? by how much? it would be better to raise boost with a free flowing exhasut rather than a boost controller rite? a boost controller will cram more air into the engine and heat up the air quite a bit i would guess.

need some input guys. i would like to make it as fast as possible without a larger turbo. thanks.
