i wont to race my car and im looking for cheaper oldschool looking rims and i was wandering if these would be wide enough and what type of tire i should get.

if anyone knows of any cooler looking oldschool rims, tell me.

They're cool looking, but I'd have to see them on the car. I can't think of any other old school wheels though. Weight isn't that bad though for a 14"

Kind of 70ish looking to me. Maybe that's what you wanted when you said 'old school'. Might check out some of the Rota wheels. Pretty light on some of their wheels -- esp. in a 14" size.

http://www.rotawheels.com/

Check out the Slipstream -- website advertises the 15" model at less than 12 lbs each. Doesn't appear to be a 14" model tho. Rota's website leaves a little to be desired, so you might check some of the other more popular wheel sources for specs and info on Rota.

Well.... I'd imagine in some parts of the country the 70's craze is still going strong.

the moral value of your car is depleted with the application of those wheels.

I would agree... however, on an 86 or later car?

i think you'd be better off going with the rota's. that wheel looks like it was made out of twinkies.

Yuck... I think those look much worse than even the phone dial stock wheels! No offense man, but those mightn't look so wicked on a second gen... and you DO want to attract the ladies, and not drive them away right?

I was looking into rims for a 4-lug SE before. I found that the 82-85 Toyota Supra rims have the same lug pattern, 4x114.3 and are 14x7 rims. I don't know if the offset will work though.

If you want to look at getting cheap rims from a junkyard that will fit, this site has pictures, lug patters, and rim size of almost every rim made. It is pretty cool to look through.
