Question Wheel Spacer Questions

I just purchased a set of wheel spacers for my car from summit to be used with my AutoX cross tires and rims because they rubbed before with out them the tires are victoracer 225/50/16 I'm not sure what the off set of the rims where but the tire rubed slitly in the front and back only when going around sharp turns. But I noticed my car didn't understeer nearly as much as without the spacers...

My questions:
what do the spacers do to my alignment? Do they give my more or less camber?
having a wider stance would mean better all around handling right?
Will they shorten the life of my tires?

Thanks

i don't think they'd change your camber at all, unless they're an uneven width all around and that would just suck. they just push the wheel farther out.

Camber stays the same, although it does not change as much upon compression.&nbsp I doubt you'll even notice this.

Your "track" is wider, so it's the same as adding traction to both front and rear - if anything it's a lot more stable now.

I think up to 1/4" you're safe.&nbsp Anything more and you don't have enough thread on the stock studs.&nbsp You can always order the ARP Buick extended studs that give you extra length.&nbsp The thread size is 12mm x 1.50

Can you explain these a little better? Where can you get them?

I think H&R also makes spacers, and anything over 5MM will be hub-centric.

I believe the thicker ones comes with 5 holes (to bolt on to the existing 5 studs with supplied nuts), and 5 new studs to take the place of the stock ones. These are VERY thick spacers though, at least wider than 15MM I believe.

I've also seen some on Japanese FCs, I think a company called GTO makes them...not sure.
