Wheel choice for wide body

I want to do this to my car.

And I woudl like to know what size wheels I woudl need to find, off set wise (I will be adding 3 to 4 inchec to each wheel well) and I would lik eto kno wthe best place to go for offset wheels or spacers for them and How much a set of wheels or spacers would be to fit well in a, lets say, 3 inch wide body set up.

I know its not a very detailed question, at least as detailed as a wheel question should be, but I don't have the specs worked out for sure yet. Mainly because I don't know if I can afford wheels to fit in a car thats as wide as I want mine to look...

Good luck getting the kit. From what I understand they're disscontinued. But, with a widebody I personally would go with some deep dishes (depending on what your using your car for, like show/track).

Why?
You list NA's in your .sig.
Why would you want heavier rims and tires on your NA?
Are you going to make over 400hp?
Heavier rims and tires just degrade performance.

I remember Owen saying you can get knockoff fenders from many places.

That duckass sort of spoiler (those can work, ChrisV on Torquecentral adopted one from a 2nd gen Camaro to his 302 autocrosser and.... it sure worked!) I havent seen though, but looks nice and goes with the kit, and its actually subtle.

Actually, ****, saved the links - here we go!

- front Tripoint replica fenders, about 65mm wider than stock - $380 shipped from www.RaceOnUSA.com
- rear Msports replica fenders, 30mm wider than stock - $300 shipped off ebay from FatBoyGarage (err... google for it?)

Now, I got no clue what that white body kit is besides sexy... but hey, the fenders are out there. BTW, whats that kind of spoiler called? Its not a whaletail, but I dont think its just a DA... lol.

Wheels should be F/10" wide 0 backspace, and R/11" wide 0 Backspace. You can go larger, but it will potentially effect ride height. igure out what tires you are going to rub before you buy wheels. Carl

I am actually goign to make the kit myself.
(I am starting my own fiberglass/carbon fiber)
I will be going to true dual exaust and mega squirt, and not a whole lot else. I will be porting it my self in the winter, with a mild street port, so it will have some power, but lot loads. I want to clear 14s at the track, but still have some mileage left, so it wont be gettin to aggressive.

I just think those fenders are gorgeous. I will be using my current spoiler, its really the only rex spoiler that I like. I want to paint my wheels and get spacers, but I want like 3 inches of extra fender, so I don't think I can get the wheels close enough to flush with spacers.

WHat do you guys know about spacers, and their effect on handling and my wallet?

And can I get inexpensive deep dish wheels?

To do a widebody conversion that involves cutting the rear quarter panel and wheels/tires as big as you want, you are looking at a minimum of $4000 and to do it justice, in excess of $6000 and up.

The rear spoiler on that car is actually the rear lip spoiler offered from Tri-Point Engineering with their widebody kit. They do still offer it btw.

The rim/tire combo as recommended by Tri-Point is as follows:
Front: 17x10 with a 5" backspace 275/40/17
Rear: 17x11 with a 6" backspace 315/35/17

I have he Tri-Point flares and modified them for even larger wheels/tires. You can check out the thread and more info/pics on it here:

Unless you are building an all out, track only n/a racecar you are wasting your time and money imho. Most people who have done this are big hp turbo'd cars. Besides, people will lagh at you when they kick your *** in your slow but fast looking car. Not tryong to be a dick, just telling it like it is.

if you want in between a full wide body and stock fenders you can get some corksport front fenders/rear bolt ons, and pan speed front/rear flares. These will allow you to run a big rim and tire package. Not anything crazy like a full widebody, but enuff to get some wheels to the ground. www.corksport.com
