whats your e-fan temp

i was wondering what everybody has their thermostat set at? i was fealing my radiator and it go pretty hott. then i got a laser heat tester and put it on my radiator and it red like 98 dagrees. seems alot hotter than that? then i put it on my hose and that red 170 dagrees this normal or really high?

I'd say if your coolant temps excede 190-200 your in trouble, I think stock thermostat is a 190degree, so if 170 is truly your coolant temp then thats great.

The actual number you set it at isn't that important. You should know what temp the engine runs at during normal driving, so just set the thermoswitch to operate the fan when it starts to rise above that when idling.
