Brake Master Cylinder (Just fixed that this last weekend)
Brake Calipers (I suspect that they are rusted and need to be rebuilt or replaced, car from a stop feels sluggish and pushing it in neutral is damn near impossible)
Vacuum Hoses have cracked and popped off.
Small Radiator Leak
Right engine mount is gone
Left Engine Mount is cracked
Downpipe has a leak
Main Cat is leaking
Passenger Muffler is leaking
Clock is possessed
Windows are slow to roll up
Sunroof sticks for a second
Starts and holds idle a few minutes before dying.
Idle itself when warm idles at around 1300 that isn't good.
RPMS jumps on occasion, causing the car to lurch forward quickly. This happens usually only happens at slow speeds.
Slight power hesitation at 2000 rpms in 2nd gear, I'm told this is related to the exhaust issue.
Passenger tail light s4 plastic molding is cracked.
Driver side rear bumper has some paint missing

stopping now before I start depressing myself.

Rear end whines and rattles when at cruising speed
Pulsing idle
Roof leaks and wets my left foot (conv)
Exhaust is rusting away/ therefore stinks in car
Engine will not idle with AC on
Annoying squeeks
Auto tranny slips in and out of 2nd

All in all not bad for a daily driver with 150k

Transmission on its way out
Chipped pass. side air vent
Cracked dash(how much does a fix cost?)
old plugs/wires (I change them thursday)
cracked vaccum lines (changing thursday, could it be robbing power?)
rear coilovers blew seals, currently being rebuilt by JIC under warranty.

Other than that, it's fine.

Issues so far with mine.

Brakes are less than stellar, I have new rotors, stainless lines and I'm still looking for some decently priced pads that are within my performance needs.
  • Brakes are less than stellar, I have new rotors, stainless lines and I'm still looking for some decently priced pads that are within my performance needs.
  • Battery issues. Replaced Battery with Optima Red Top and new battery terminals, no battery issues now.
  • Blown shocks.
  • Cosmetic, springs are corroded pretty badly, more ugly than non-functional, but might as well replace them.
  • Clutch had a spring ripped out... car is parked waiting on an ACT.
  • Power steering works intermittantly
  • Engine isn't that smooth yet, but still powerful.
  • Sunroof needs assistance when opening it.
  • Interior trim pieces breaking on a regular basis.
  • Odometer stopped working and clicks after the clutch problem.

Overall I'm very happy with the car tho. The chassis is very solid and felt good handling until I blew the shocks. Most of these are wear items, and for a TII with original engine and clutch and 145K miles, I'm thinking that all of these are acceptable given the age of the car and the components.

I'd hoped that I'd not have to dump so much money into her immediately, but the grin I get driving her is more than enough for me to overlook this stuff.

The only problem I have with my RX7 is that I don't have it yet...... I want it... but it just ain't here. Sigh, oh to drive the rotary, to hear it's engine spin. I yearn for it, I live for it. I must have it. :-)

an update on my car's status, and I get to know her better

Shifter bushings have been replaced...it's a whole new world.

One engine mount has been replaced, I will be replacing the other Monday evening.

Suspension feels soft, a friend will be giving me his KYB/AGX with ST springs...for free

Plan on getting the suspension bushing set soon, as I'm occasionally hearing some clunking on hard left turns.
