Whats wrong w/ my water temp gauge?
I bought a Cyberdyne Digital water temp gauge. It uses a Dimmer switch, a 12v+ switched, a ground, and the temp SENSOR gets its ground through the engine.
If im driving around during the day, it stays around 210-220F. When i turn on my parking lights, it goes up even more, and when my full lights are on its terribly over 240F.
However, when i turn off my car (or turn the ignition off and turn it back on) with the car OFF, it normally reads the exact temperature it should. (194F after lots of idling with my new efan)
Whats going on with my gauge where whenever more current is used in the car, the gauge actually ends up going up and not being accurate?
edit: On my efan install i used the battary for the +12v (off the terminal), grounded it to the frame, and used the switched 12v from the green 6 pin test connector next to the drvrs side light. Works like a charm
