Angry Whats up with Rx-7 flooding???

I have 84 gsl an 87 N/A and a 10th Annivesary. I dont have a problem with the first gen flooding just the 87 N/A; when its warm it is a bit hard to crank back and my 10th AE, which is rebuilt now with 3000 miles on it, will not start back when it has warmed up at all. I have a fuel cut switch but I want know why it wont just start without the switch? I hear alot about this but what is the common cause for this chronic Rx-7 plague? I want to correct this problem.

the cause is low compression or leaking injectors. normaly bit of both. mine has never flooded.

As scott mentioned it is mostly caused by leaky injectors (remember that the injectors fire 3 times a cycle in a rotary, as well as almost no one ever gets them cleaned and keeps the fuel filter and fuel tank clean) or low compression.

Is it safe to use injector-cleaner, or should I disassemble the little bastards and clean them manually

If there is a flooding problem the only real answer is to have the injectors professionally cleaned.

If they are not leaking, there are a couple of people that suggest using double or triple the mix in the fuel tank injector cleaners occasionally.

I see nothing wrong with occasionally using a double strength of fuel injector cleaner as long as the cleaner does not sit in the tank for too long.

you can flood it without low compression!

I am going to do a compression test. If that turns out ok I am going to send my injectors to Rc engineering to have them cleaned and to hopefully fix the problem.
