what's streetable and fun?

ok, so my t2 suspension is really really shot

i would new shocks/spring or coilovers that are modertely comfortable (i live in CT, we had lots of potholes) but also fun and good drifting around a few corners every once in a while

my price range is below 1500, preferably below 1000

thanks in advance

You will probably get 50 different answers on different settings.

I personally use the KSport Coilovers and they are actually below or at your budget depending on what setup you go with.

Typically around $950-$1250 even for the race only setup.

You do know we are running a group buy on the ksports in the group buy section and they are alot cheaper than those on Ebay.

With rough roads and potholes, I'd stay away from coilovers, as most of them are as stiff as or stiffer than most road racers use, and you'll have terrible ride quality over bumpy roads. The Stance for instance has 9kg/mm front and 7kg/mm rear springs. That's very stiff. When I get a suspension I'll be looking to get something in the range of 7/5 and that's still pretty stiff.

Your stock springs will work fine with new shocks, and your ride quality and handling should improve quite noticeably with some good shocks. Unless you're really wanting to go lower or are going to be autocrossing or taking it to the race track then upgraded springs probably aren't worth the extra $$. You can always go back later and get them if you want.

KYB AGX shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit springs
Use the other $700 to get laid.

You should look into changing bushings, too, if your shocks are shot because they're OEM and old.

I would not go with coilovers for the street. The ride will be way too harsh, and you will feel like a jacka$s when you realize that you just dropped over a grand on a suspension setup that makes you dred getting in the car and driving it to starbucks.

Go with the Prokit/Racing Beats' and the AGXs or Tokicos. If you feel brave, do the Koni modification.
