What's the physical difference between hood hinges for aluminum and steel hoods?

The FSM states that there are specific hinges for aluminum hoods and for steel hoods, and that the two should not be interchanged.

How are the hinges different? Plastic around the hinge pin, or under the hinge? Can something be done with the steel hood's hinges to make them electrically insulated? I have an aluminum hood going onto a car that originally came with a steel hood and I'd like to get it mounted right.

I actually do have a set of aluminum hood hinges on my old car, but I'd have to take the fenders off to extract them and that's kind of annoying

If you look at Mazda OEM parts, the LH & RH numbers are listed for all 86-91 models.
Example LH:

I did find this post from Icemark that seems to contradict that:

Maybe after some time Mazda realized it wasn't as big of a deal as they thought and dropped the different hinges. Or when the cars went out of warranty they decided it wouldn't be their problem anymore if people rotted their hoods out by mixing hoods and hinges

I've had the turbo hood on my steel hinges for 15 years now and just went out to look. No corrosion .The hood latch is annoying though since I have to slam it shut every time, replace that or sell your old one to me 😂

From the Factory the cars had different hinges based on the hood, but if you buy new hinges they are just the AL hood type.

so FB01-52-410E/FB01-52-420E for Steel hoods
and FB13-52-420E/FB13-52-410E for Aluminum

any replacement would have been the FB13, Aluminum type.

not sure what the difference was, the worry was Aluminum on Steel corrosion, but i feel like we have bigger problems?

Also the alu hood has plastic washers between the hinge, bolt and chassis, so steel wont touch alu.
I have a car with alu hood and one with steel hood, might have a look if the hinges are different..
