i read some place a while ago about some rexs having aluminum hoods. i have a "luxury" model 86 i can discrib it more if need be, but i know my hood is hella lighter than my friends.

i know there was at least one other post asking how you could tell but i couldn't find i swear. all i found was a bunch mostly about CAI and air boxes.

Hint: aluminium is not magnetic

 

They were only available in aluminum or steel.

 

Aluminum hoods will have the front latch loop, pop riveted to the hood.

Steel hoods will have that same peice welded.

So if you have pop rivets around where the latch loop is mounted, then you have an aluminum hood.
