... rolls a bead / rib on both the ends of intercooler pipes, theory being the rib will make it difficult for the couplers to slide off during boost. Anyone know what that tool is named? trying to buy or rent one for my diy custom IC piping set up.

and don't bother with the one from harbor freight, **** in a box.

 

yup, bead roller. OR learn to tig weld and use less couplers.

 

you can also cut ribs into the metal for the hose to grip.

the guy on trucks is using looks good tool, only problem, the largest side they sell is 2'' as far I my searching found, my intercooler pipes are 2 1/2

I don't have access to aluminum welder either
