What's my problem?

Ok, I finally got my intake manifold put back together after taking it apart and removing my ACV, 6PI, VDI, and most of the emissions crap. This left me with a whole lot of vaccum hoses blocked off, but everything went back together the way it looks like it should. But here's my problem:

When I crank my engine, it fires, revs as much as I want it to, but when the throttle is closed, it immediately dies. My friends are telling me I have a vaccum leak somewhere, but I don't know where to start looking, or how to tell if something is leaking...any ideas?

Thanks!
Stephen

Grab a bottle of carb cleaner and start spraying.

Wherever there could be a leak. Have someone keep the car alive by holding on the gas. Spray carp cleaner into a specific area, and if you hear the revs change, you know its pulling it through there. Then just look for it.

Did you take off your Cold Start System? In particular, did you reset your Idle?

I never re-set my idle and I don't have problems. Then again my car sat without a battery in if for a month waiting on my intermediate housing.

Might want to pull your upper intake manifold and look at the spider for the oil injectors. I had one of those little bastards come off and give me hell because I didn't have one of the hoses routed the way it was originally hardened.

what does the cold start system look ilike? It acted the same when the engine got warmed up. I found a couple vaccum hoses that I forgot to plug, and I squirted carb cleaner around in the area of the ACV, and the revs went up a few hundred when I sprayed it around the edges of the openings, so I'm going to re-seal those tomorrow.

How do I reset my idle?

Thanks,
Stephen

If your car isn't idling, you probably have a vacuum leak. You should find that before you start changing things.

Yay! It finally is running fairly well after sealing up the ACV holes, etc. However, it is still idling really low (~600rpm when warm). How do I adjust the idle?

Thanks for your help!

the screw on top of the TB adjusts the air and the varistor next to the atmospheric pressure sensor on the right strut tower adjusts the fuel mixture. Or if you're really lazy you can do it with the s-afc. I prefer to have the hardware all set properly so that the programming simply compensates for things the hardware cant do. (aka get her running right with a flatlined s-afc before messing with the adjustments)
