what's involved:dash illumination separate switch

is it more than removing r/g wire from the switch and wiring that and a ground to a separate switch?

or a way to remove the wiring for the dimmer from the equation as that's what goes bad? the reason I want to is if I replace the switch eventually I'll have the same issue and at the moment only my dash lights are intermittently working. tails, park everything else works fine all the time.

ok so I did it. large r/g to power on switch, small r/g to acc on switch and ground on switch to ground for a light on the switch. I'm gonna re do it through a relay when I get a chance just wanted to test it.

I don't see why you'd relay the dash illumination circuit, it's pulling very little current.

my car had this done. it gets hot on the back of the switch after awhile so just a heads up when you touch it, unless you plan to mount it somewhere on the dash where you can't touch the back.
