Fd tps on FC question
Decided to run a FD UIM on my T2. I know the tps are completley different on both cars. I noticed there are 6 wires attached to the T2 tps harness and there are 4 on the fd's. Do i simply match just four of the wires off the harness and leave the other 2 unused or is there something else i should be doing to make it work??

if you look at the diagrams, and the actual parts, you will see that the signals between the FC and FD are identical, the only real difference is that the FC uses TWO separate sensors and the FD uses one.
so the FC has two power, two ground and two signal wires, and the FD has one power, one ground and two signal wires

Just a minute I got a diagram for that.
The S5 has 6 wires.(S4 has only 3 tps wires)
you only need 3 of the 4 on an FD TPS.
so,If you use a Haltech etc then the S5 Tps is only using the widerange.( the one that depends on the CAM on the TB shaft to adjust the range of tps)The one that just flicks off and on is NOT used for anything. So basically out of 6 wires again 3 are used.
S4 has 3 wires,so it is used normally,OR it can get converted to an S5 cam operated TPS( see search for that.It has been done.)
NOW,FD TPS: it has 4 wires.
here is a pic of that...and it shows which 3 wires to use.
