I just installed one of them last night on a friend's car. We bought a set of fancy zip ties for $6 and strapped it to the rad, and then wired er up
Took all of 20 mins.
I am considering looking into the "finger chopper" though.

Well, I just bought the Imperial 16inch fan from Checker and I think they suck major ***.
I bought the temperature switch with it and I will sometimes notice it turning off even when the engine is hot.
Another thing is that I had a 14'' in and it cooled ok but I got stuck in traffic one day for an hour and I was 3/4 the way up the stock temp guage. That gave me a scare.
So far the 16" cools it to a little under 1/3 to 1/4 up the stock temp guage.
I will install my Autometer Temp guage soon and see what its really running at soo.

One that is properly installed WITH A SHROUD designed to pull air across 100% of the surface area of the radiator, not 60% of the surface area; like 90% of the installations shown on the forum

I have a fan from a Pontiac 6000. $20 from a wrecking yard. I cut the shroud off as to not restrict airflow during high speed driving. This might not be a good idea on a stock rad.
Honestly, if you have a stock rad and no reason to install an electric fan, leave it alone and keep using the stocker. It moves TONNES of air.

A friend told me that if I remove the stock fan from my turbo2 and install an electrical fan..that I will gain some extra horsepower...is that true and how much of a gain??
