What's going on with my turbo?
Well here's my problem... my car doesnt like to make boost anymore.. or hold it for that matter.
My important mods are:
2.5" straightthru exhaust to ebay muffler
tb mod
fcd
all emissions removed...
cant think of anything else..
a while ago my car would hit about 9-10psi and hold it all the way to redline...
now im barley hitting 6psi in 1st gear.. 2nd gear hits about 8psi and bleeds off to about 6 or 7 psi at redline.. and ill have to pay more attention to the rest.
also my car seems to be using more oil than usual...
blown turbo? i hope its just that.
anyways any advice on what to look for here?

I'll do that tomarrow.. thanks.
Another thing is without the silencer in my muffler, my car tends to smoke at idle.. a white smoke.. but it's not coolant.. I guess turbo blowing oil =//

Couple things.
1 Buy a 3 inch exhaust
2 Your turbo is probably toast
3 What kind of muffler is it, straight thru or baffled? I've seen shitty mufflers (prolly the one you own) melt and make lots of back pressure. So best advice, junk it buy good one.
Have any cat/ precats on yet?

The other thing to check is your manifold to turbo and manifold to block bolts.... My car did the same thing and the turbo was fine, had just been installed by the dealership a year before i bought the car...
I always heard a little ticking before the car got woarmed up, but i just thought that was my SS exhaust warming up...
Turns out, the idiots at the shop didn't use the locking tabs on the rear manifold to block nuts and the damn things fell off.... there were only two bolts holding my turbo on... thus.. exhaust leak and it follows, lower boost levels. You'd think it would have been loud as hell, but, honestly, i never really noticed it other than the ticking when the car first started up from cold.. but the black soot all over the gaskett doesn't lie!!

If your throttle plates are stock and you have not removed the secondary number two plates...........it's is possible the secondary number two plates are not opening. They ride on a cam/dashpot device. These parts age and WILL cause the outboard set of plates to stay closed. That WILL result in slow boost and not as high boost. Take the intercooler off and take a look if your outboard set of secondary plates are still there.
