Whats Going On Here.....

Alright guys I have been reading alot of posts lately about people blowing engines...they are saying they were just driving normal and the engine suddenly just went out on them...I mean damn is it that easy to pop the engine...I remember blowing my JSPEC but that was at 150mph and i still had the 550cc secondaries in. I got my car back...i have more mods now and a fresh rebuild by ROTORDSPORTS RACING...and I do have all the reliability mods... I have been babying the car mostly...Im at 450 miles...gonna change the oil at 500. Then it will be broke in by 1500 but I mean if my engine blows again im going to have to sell the car, just all this talk of mysteriously blowing engines scares me, b/c there will be the times I am going to get on the car and I dont want the damn thing to pop the first time i floor it...Are these engines just being Rebuilt poorly or majorly being Overboosted or what....?

could be defective mechanical problems. But a lot of poeple on this forum want cheap horsepower. Which ends up in motor longevity shortening. Treat/tune it right and there shouldnt be a problem.

Absolutely right! You can blow a motor going 30 if its not tuned right.

Well I know mine was built right...even with such low mileage I have no problems w/ flooding and it fires up everytime and even though I have all emissions removed it also idles strong no matter how cold it is...i just dont want this thing to mess up on me...so i will definitely make sure I get a wideband on it b4 i get on it...

I *blew* a engine on a first gen doing 40-45 and not even under acceleration. Why? Because it was a throughly, totally abused, beat up, engine with high milage. The apex seals were worn out and rolled over in the front housing.

By the way, in its last week of running, it seemed to be running better than ever.

i also noticed people blowing up their engine.. But to do that the MUST be very badly drivin. My car is boostn 15psi (stock s4), the microtech is not adjusted correctly but the car still runs :P
Ïm going to adjust it and lower the boost to 12psi.. And hope it survives a year or two :P

i threw in a cheap 150$ motor in my car and it lasted about 1500 miles before it went out. jsut cruising down the freeway and i lost the rear rotor. it wound up that the rear iron cracked at the dowel pin.. didnt know the history of the motor but it kept me on the road till my jspec was complete. it was a very healty feeling and strong engine though.

most because people rebuild there engines and the same old clogged injectors that blew up the motor the last time. Send your injectors to cruzin to be rebuilt and flow tested.

or keep rebuilding and wondering why
