Whats the difference betweem torque and hp?

I really don't understand, they seem so similar in definition. If torque is turning power, which is measured after the flywheel, what the is the diffenece between torque and hp@the wheels? And why do they peak at different rpms? How are they measured?

HP is a derivitive of torque. Horsepower = (RPM * Torque) /5252 I believe is the equation.

Like you said, torque is twisting force. Power is the rate at which work is being done.
Have a read of these:

How power works
Power vs. Torque 1
Power vs. Torque 2
Power please...

torque is the turning force, HP is a relationship between torque and RPM
