What's this box do?
Okay.. so I'm ripping the last of the stuff out of my parts car so I can start to cut it up (I need the rocker panel for my 10AE). I notice some other little boxes by the ECU.. one is a pressure sensor.. wtf is this used for? A/C or something? Another says N327. A third one, the one that I'm really curious about, says nothing on it except "ENGINE FAILURE". It's got a 6 or 8 pin plug on it, I think.. WTF is this for?

The pressure sensor has to do with what level of height your car is at. I am not sure of the specifics, but it changes the air/fuel mixture based on how high of an altitude your car is running at.

the "pressure sensor" is the stock map sensor, depending on what kind of rx7 you have its a 1 or 2 bar map sensor....i dont know WHY its in the cabin...it comes bolted to the passenger side strut tower

There is a pressure sensor inside the cabin and depending upon if his parts car is turbo or N/A, he has a pressure or boost sensor respectively. That is bolted to the strut tower inside the engine bay.

There is an atmospheric pressure sensor on a series four car that is located in the footwell of the passenger. It's located on the same level as the bottom of the heater fan, and seven inches fwd and to the right of the center of that fan. It's used by the ECU for fuel control. Just like if you had a carb car and went to Colorado...you'd have to rejet the carb for the best performance. The ATP does the same.
And for the very last time......the NON-TURBO cars have a BOOST SENSOR and the TURBO cars have a PRESSURE SENSOR. My point of reference is the 1987 FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL. Look it up.

To fail? What exactly does that mean? What happens?

Now for those not knowing that I was teasing/joking, I thought the ENGINE FAILURE relay just shuts off the fuel pump if the engine stalls or the AFM becomes disconnected.
