whats the big deal with vert caps?

how come everyone wants them and is willing to pay $20 for just one 14+ year old wheel cap? why not just take them all of if u are missing one so it all matches.

Because it looks uglier without the caps. Thats like saying why everyone wants S5 tail lights and is willing to pay $200 for them.

No. And try getting new ones from BBS if you don't like 20 bucks-
they go for 75, and do not say Mazda on them, just BBS.

And they do look like *** w/o them. I got a set of four w/ the tool on ebay for 50 bucks.

Just gotta keep your eyes open.

Id rather have BBS on my rims than Mazda if I had a vert, but 75 bucks is a lot of money for something that may fly off for no reason..

One came off my just purchased mint '90 vert. Got a new cap at Mazda for $110.00. Rediculous price but if ya want the car to look as it was designed (terrific) than you have to be willing to feel the pain.

Bend over and prepare to receive, sayeth the dealer.

Did they ask if you wanted it lubed or dry when they sold it to you?

I think the Lincoln and BMW OEM'd BBS caps from the same era fit also, might want to give those a try if you find them in a junkyard.

Yeah- I have seen a couple of those around town and wondered about that...

Not that I would contemplate stealing some old guy's caps off his Lincoln and selling them on Ebay- .......

Naw. That would be evil

Heh... I took the caps OFF my 'vert because I think it looks BETTER personally. Got 'em sitting in my garage. I got some pics of my car but I haven't finished the roll so as soon as I do I'll send it it for developing and scanning. ;-)

i lost one cap and sold the other three to an acquintance for dirt cheap. they don't look hideous without them, but you can tell something is missing. i think i'd like the wheels better to be designed not to need them. it was probably an 80s thing. to compare them to S5 tails is a bit drastic. my wheels spin when i drive, so you cant tell something is missing (unless youre a rotary ****); and if you can tell, you cant say it looks bad. i'll say that comparison is in the ballpark only as a 'looks' thing. why do they sell for so much money?? people are crazy.

Would you consider selling the caps cheap since you don't use them?

I think the wheels look TERRABLE without those caps. But hey, go for it, save some weight off your wheels!

Casio: Is your user text directed against me? :-p

You have to acknowedge there is a real distinction between those of us who want to keep the image of the original design vision pristine and those amongst us who have every right to make the car fit their imagage of that they want or think it should be. Each will say the other sucks.
