yes they all non turbo transmissions are interchangable and they are your best shot to just slap it in and go I personally would be willing to do a t2 tranny swap if i had to do it again. I just replaced my tranny its an easy job with two people and 3 hours of fun...eh -later

I just had PINEAPPLE RACING build me a MIATA geared NA box. Have not installed it yet. Its somewhere between Dallas TX and Aiken SC this AM. Shhould be a sweet little box. Cryo'd synchs and shift forks, new MAZDA bearings. Can't wait.

I also have a source for rebuild kits for the NA trannies.
They use aftermarket bearings that cross-reference to the MAZDA OEM bearings. They may be slightly noisier than using the MAZDA OEM bearings. PM me for prices.

No the 6 speed is VERY fragile. I have the 5 speed gears. I have been told it will handle 300 HP all day long. We shall see! You are looking at the man who shattered the main bearing on a NA box. Of course it had 228,000 miles on it and I was shifting at 7K without the clutch!

It sounds like you know how to torture test. If it holds together for you, it should last forever for the rest of us..
