What is wrong with my car?
I have an 88 NA that is having problems.
The symptoms are many: Eratic idle and idle bounce. Very hard to keep a steady speed - when I let off the throttle it lugs(bucks). Even when I set the cruise it does this. If I am accelerating the car is fine. Also when I am trying to keep a steady speed and let off the throttle a little, though not completely the exhaust sounds strange. It is not loud or popping or backfiring it kinda sounds like a very muffled machine gun. Sorry I can't describe it better.
I guess that is it. I think that the BAC valve is bad because when I unplug it the engine idle does not change. Engine hot or cold makes no difference. Would a bad BAC valve cause these symptoms?
The car has a K&N cone gutted cats-stock muflers--Removed airpump-5th and 6th ports wired open. Wires and plugs are basically new. Other than that it is stock.
Thanks.

It may also be a vacuum leak.
Measure the resistance on your BAC.. The specs are in the factory manual...i think it's 9-11 kohm or so.. I'll sell you mine if you want it. It measured 10.8 k-ohm PM me.
