less than $10,000 (i think) can buy you a T2, Haltech (etc; i'm biased and closed-minded), turbo (borg warner, schwitzer, etc; cheap), turbo parts, rebuilt engine (13B-RE w/ s4 rotors) with heavy streetport, half-bridge or full bridge. you'll be going fast enough to require a roll cage at tracks.
okay, my money number isn't *known,* but i'm pretty damn sure. my friend has a 10-sec capable setup (ran 11.6 and now has ~120 more hp to the wheels). its also good to know people. i'm gonna venture to say that $10-15K could _easily_ put you in the 10s assuming you know how to drive.

I have similar problems. I have to race a Z06 6 speed.
I would rather race the porche 911. But hopefully my haltech will be installed this week and I can get my breakin started for my new motor so I can slap my borg warner t04b onner and start getting the bitch tuned. I will most likely get a GT series turbo for it. I wanted one in the first place but got a great deal on the BW. I also have to figure out how to beat this FMIC running to hot on the highway ****. Good luck and let us know how it turns out

The best way to beat a 911 turbo is to know somebody with a 9 second car. Tell them about it and watch them lose horribly as you laugh and drive your 16 second car.

besides how streetable is a tII that runs 10's or 11's, i mean is it worth spending all that money to beat a supercar?...yes it is, but do you have that money to throw into a 2nd gen, its gonna end up costing alot of money to keep in top condition. the car is certinally up to the task, but the driver needs to be able to do most if not all the work themselves to keep it under 10,000.

From a roll you might have a chance with over 300 rwhp, otherwise, you will get obliterated. 0-100 in 9.2 seconds, do you think you could beat that??

Are you insane? the Porsche is a monster on the course. Yes its true that Porsches do not have a healthy $$:HP ratio but that does not mean they are crap.

Well this topic is going nowhere (as do all the "can I beat ______?"). Unless something really good comes up, it's closed.

I get sick of little kids getting on here and screaming it's nitrous not nos!!! Which one is easier to type NOS is what do ya know about that. And I think that most ppl that type nos know it's just a name brand.

But I think you could get a car to beat him with no problem, just get a TO4* with all the supporting hardware. And as far as a TII being limited to 170, I belive that Racing Beat's Bonnivle FC got to 200mph with about 300hp.

how do you want to beat him??

on the track , freeway , drag ???
each setup is slightly different...
power in the rpms range and your suspention setup
are the two main areas the will determine how much you spend for what type of setup to beat him on.

An 11 second FC can be very streetable.

This is what you do. Call BDC and have him half bridge your motor. Then you get a GT series turbo with standalone. Tune it in and kick his ***. 4-5k tops. Beats 90+k

So you won't have to modify an FC to go 12's?

Stock, worn out 180 HP TPI 350 from an old police car + slipping 4 speed auto tranny = instant 13's.

4 bolt main 350 + Edelbrock aluminum heads/carb/intake + slipping 4 speed auto tranny + stock tires = instant 12's.

What we've done so far ^

What we will be doing--------------

Traction + exhaust + good tranny = instant 11's.

Have a nice day
