What Would This Hurt...?

I'm going to be driving about 2 hours to pick up four tires... and I'm pretty sure that they won't fit in the back of my car, so I was wondering... would it hurt anything if I drove two hours with my hatch open with four tires in the back...?

4 tires should fit, unless you have other stuff in there. If you need to drive with your hatch open, take a bungee strap, and close the hatch as far as it will go, and then secure it down with the strap. I have driven with the hatch open, and above ~35MPH or so the wind will start to push the hatch glass down.

Yeah, I don't need to worry about it anymore, I have a friend that's going to let me borrow his truck to go and pick up the tires. Thanks anyway.

Exhaust fumes are a hazard for anyone porting a load with the hatch not sealed.

For the least fumes, windows up, sunroof closed, vent fan on high.

Are you carrying a passenger???

Push the passenger seat all the way back, and you can fit two tires in the front.
I think you can figure out how to fit two tires in the back.

Yeah, I'm taking a friend with me because he's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to tires (more than I am anyway), so I'm taking him with to make sure that these tires are good.

I think we were still able to get all 4 tires in the rear.
Two are in between the front seats and the rear strut towers.
The other two can be in the hatch area.
If you stick one on the floor and push it all the way forward, I think you can angle the last one with the rear lower than the front.
