if you want to upgrade go with the Sport/TII/GXL style brakes which have 4 piston front calipers and venter rear rotors. From there you can go with a good pad set and ss lines.

My upgrade was to buy all new/rebuilt STOCK components to replace all the wornout crap. It made a ton of difference.

i had a s4 with the base brakes, they were not all that good but would stop the car when i needed it too. i have two s5's with the 4piston brakes, they are much better espically when you get good pads and rotors, unless you autocross or have alot of heavy track time the 4pots are great brakes.

87 base

front=single piston, slotted/drilled rotors, semi-metallic brake pads, ss hoses. stops nice and hard.

rear = stock

Do the 4 pot calipers just bolt onto the N/A?

I also thought the 87 N/A was 4x100?

Base model NA is 4x114.3
Same as Nissan S13/S14, AE86, Galant VR4, etc.

dude it isn't really all that hard to fabricate a wheel hub if you have access to a mill... and of course FD ones fit nicely... that is, if you think you need fatter back tires, and im assuming thats why we started talking about wheel hubs in the first place?

For my car that recently became a daily driver, the bonez stage 1 brakes don't really decrease the stopping distance, of course thats the tires, but I like to go up to the high school and drift around light poles... which sounds like a really bad idea... and I don't think the stage 1's outperform GXL brakes at all for the first half hour or so... and there are cops there by that time so Im usually gone lol... BOTTOM LINE: OEM brakes should be what I use.

I asked about the 4x100 because I have a Miata and it would be nice to be able to swap tires back and forth.

As for the 2nd part of your comment in drifting etc.... It didn't make a sence to me.

So, if someone could post a clif notes version. Do the 4 Pots bolt upto the stock N/A caliper locations. This includes the brake lines.

No, front 4-pot big brakes do not fit on the 4-lug hub.
You need to grab the entire hub for the brakes to fit.
Yes, the hubs all swap over.
