I just picked up a couple bottles of GM synchromesh friction modified. Heard it works wonders.

You made an excellent decision. Had an S3 that had a scratchy third syncro, ordered and installed redline. Ran it for about 400 miles, no difference. Changed to syncromesh, scratch was better immediately, gone within 200 miles. Shifted smoother than ever, too.
It's the only stuff I use in my manual trannys. Only bad news is that autozone sells it for half the price as pennzoil syncromesh..same exact stuff.

Autozone, called pennzoil syncromesh. 'Bout $7 a bottle.

I USE ROYAL PURPLE MAX GEAR Sae75w90. It is good and makes my shifter shift smooth and not so rough.

Just filled it with the GM stuff. Tranny feels great...definitely smoother and easier to shift gears than with Redline MT90.
