what Walbro fuel pump to use?

car is all stoc kas far as fuel. I notice at sharp turns car dies for split second so I figure I need to replace fuel pump. I am sure it is the original pump.

what pump do I need? i dont want to overdue it. I figured the Walbro was the way to go. I bought a pump local for my last car and it was more than the Walbro but I needed it right then

I can afford to waite for it this time so I will buy it online.

if its an NA you dotn need a pump, if its a turbo get the 255 lph.

also on left turns thats not your pump its the sock, the filter directly connected to pump in the tank.

what do I do about the sock? why not replace the pump anyway before it dies.

I knew it wasnt the pump directly but if I got do go into the tank might as well update the pump.

so what do I need to do about the sock?

you DONT NEED A WALBRO its WAY to much for an NA. call up mazda adn tell them you need a fuel filter thats in the tank. if you want you can get a new pump also. but i doubt you need one.

You can take out the fuel pump and clean the filter yourself...

What... heh.. thats like saying since the lightbulb is out, the power to the whole city must have gone out. Don't jump to conclusions...

Replace your fuel filter before replacing your pump.

If your car is an n/a, the walboro 255 is going to run your n/a so rich you'll lose alot of power. Bottom line is with a walboro 255, you'll need aftermarket-fuel management to shorten the injector widths to cope with the raised fuel flow.

Hell, it could even by a short in the harness somewhere that when you go around a sharp corner, the pump cuts out.

Oh, one more thing. If the tank has never been cleaned, you should remove the fuel pump and de-gunkify the intank fuel filter sock. It can get gunked and deprive the pump of fuel on turns.

im not sure but i think alot of guys stay with their 550 leads and swap out the secondaries to 720. .

to reiterate .. DO NOT PUT A WALPRO ON A NA. Especially if its stock or damn near stock. You will burn and waste more gas then you want to. clean your filter. if that doesnt solve the problem . maybe do the fuel pump rewire or something. just dont do the walpro on a na. trust me

probably a quarter the price of a dealer/distro oem stocker too... good info. Anyone know of an online walboro distro that might have them?
