Angry Emergency

I Have A Huge Problem....i Started My Car And I Push The Gas Pedal To Take Off And The Pedal Didn't Work...the Only Way I Got The Car To Rev Was If I Pushed The Pedal All The Way To The Floor....by The Looks Of It The Cable That Connects To The Throttle Body Is Loose....anyone Know What Is The Cause Of This And How Much It Will Cost To Fix? Please Leave A Comment Cuz I Am Stranded For The Time Being....thanx

See if the cable end piece broke off, which would result in the cable just flopping around there under the throttle bellcrank....

If the end piece broke off wouldn't the pedal just dangle completely...i still get response when i push it to the floor so its grabbing somewhere right?

I'm going to check for the spring in the morning...hopefully its something small and nothing serious...i'm just wondering how something like this happens....like what could I have done to cause it to break....thanx guys for the advice

The little nut on your throttle cable could be out. It's tucked behind the UIM, opposite the cruise control.

negative, springs are on the throttle body, not on the pedal assembly

If the throttle cable was kinked and you gave too much throttle you could have snapped it or damaged it.

Yeah just looke 'behind' the throttle body, its a cable that wraps around a half disk shaped circle that rotates the throttle plates. Theres a few things that could have gone. The metal piece where you tighten the cable could have snapped off. The cable itself is broken. The spring in the TB failed (very unlikely). Or the tip of the cable came out of the holder for the TB.

Just check it out, im sure you'll find it.
