KY What Transmission Fluid do you recommend?

What do you recommend to use as manual transmission fluid? Is the Royal Purple manual transmission synco fluid worth the money?

Never tried Royal Purple, but I use Amsoil. It's maybe a dollar or two cheaper than royal purple, but I think it's some good stuff. Let's see what other forum members are using and recommending.

I've only ever used Redline MT90 in mine, but I have a low mileage transmission that doesn't have any shift quality problems. I'm hoping a quality synthetic will extend the life of the tranny rather than smooth over any problems with worn synchros, for example.

This subject has been discussed numerous times in depth; as everyone will surely yell in about five seconds, "Do a search!"

i use valvoline synchromesh in my high mileage tranny(207k TII). shifts faster but the bearings whine more, no noticable additional wear but it definitely helped the shifting speed up and made it less resistant to gear changes.

I know. I know. "search"

I found some Redline MT90 locally. FSM says 2.5 quarts is that correct?

Valvoline synchromesh is an option, has anyone tried the Royal Purple Max Gear 75w90 in their transmission?

after using all of the synthetics, and normal gear oils, i actually like 50/50 atf and regular gear oil, works great.

shifting is just as good as the synthetics, but its cheap and easy...
