TII, or T2, is a second gen turbo. The reason Mazda called it a TII is because in Japan there was already an RX-7 Turbo which was the first gen, Mazda didn't want to confuse people so they called the second gen turbo a TII.

All FCs in Japan were turbo, so they just called them GTX, GT Limited, Inifni etc.
IDK why they called the FC turbo a TII in the US when we didn't get a turbo 1st gen and they don't call it a TII in Japan.

It was the second turbo RX7 Mazda produced.

Quoted from IceMarks website:
1987 saw the introduction of a turbocharged RX-7 for the North American market. Although turbo versions were available in the earlier Japanese FB body style as well as the '86 Japanese FC, a turbocharged rotary was completely new for the US. Named the Turbo II the car represented the second generation RX-7 that Mazda had turbocharged.

The serious part was aimed at the thread starter. Sorry, didn't try to aim that at you.

The Turbo II designation was used to denote the turbocharged 2nd generation models of the car stateside. (That came from Mazda, not me.) Basically it breaks down to Turbo 2nd generation or Turbo FC. And it was the second turbocharged seven.

The didn't call FD's Turbo III because they were all turbo.

You probably won't find a JDM FC with Turbo II on the side because of the above reason, they were all turbocharged.

Mazda did it to confuse us Americans.

Hah, I guess I was backwards. Mazda wanted to confuse people so they called it a TII . Now my friends ask me, does TurboII mean it is twin turbo?

someone said how much Hp does your TII have stock? and what about the regular turbo ones? Is yours a limited production?

It was at that point I lied like crazy for a quick ego boost and what that poor idiot doesn't know won't hurt him.
