What are the symptoms of a bad atmosphere pressure sensor
I did do some searching in the 2nd Gen section but didn't find anything that answered my question.
My question is this: If the Atmosphere Pressure Sensor is bad, what would occur?
Here are the specifics:
Recently, my N/A RX7 has been running a bit rough. Specifically, in 5th gear at 60-65 MPH, cold or hot, at about 2300-2500 RPM, the engine would occassionally surge, or sputter. This also occurs in any gear at any speed, typically between 2000-3000 RPM.
I should point out that this problem showed up after installed a used Crane Cams HI-6 ignition box. Please note that the box seems to work fine, and the diganostic lamp hasn't shown any error codes.
I've checked and rechecked the ignition timing, cleaned the plugs (which don't appear fouled), and, follwing the FSM procedure, adjusted the idle mixture. TPS sensor seems fine too, and I've checked and adjusted it. Idle is fine, and I haven't had any stalling or problems starting--its starts every time except for two times a few months ago where it did stall out and wouldn't start for a minute or two.
When I finally checked my ECU codes today, I got Code 09: Atmosphere Pressure Sensor.
