what is this stuff?????????

in this pic, you will see the nasty green "shtuff" that clogged one of the coolant passages on my SE's motor. what is that stuff anyhow?

looks like good old iron oxide to me....
Rust plus coolant = that ****.

Looks like aluminum oxide to me...
Whitish stuff (right side of water pump housing) is definitely aluminum oxide.&nbsp The green stuff is probably aluminum oxide plus coolant to give it a green tinge to it...

Before anyone asks why, where do you think the aluminum for the aluminum oxide comes from?
