Check all fluid levels. Tire pressure. Lube hinges, doors, hood and hood latch.

Wash, buff and wax. Detail the interior. Though not a mod, a cleaner car makes me take care of it better.

Remove all those little parts in the engine bay that are looking tacky and renew them. I like the hammered metal paint. Comes in silver, charcoal and black.

Remove the battery. Clean the posts and cables. While the battery is out, take out the plastic tray and unbolt metal shelf under it.. Check for rust and corrosion and renew.

While you have stuff out for renewal, clean and degrease those places you can't normaly get to.

Bleed the brakes. Bleed enough to get fresh fluid throughout the entire system. same for clutch.

Get ahold of the FSM and the rebuild video. Study and prepare.

Mod your mind. That is where modding starts in the first place. Learn as much as you can about any mod you may entertain doing. Learn the pros and the cons, before you mod. Somes mods change driveabilty (of course), but will you be happy with the mod? For example: Do you want to lose cold start warm-up? (TB mod) How loud is loud with headers and a free flowing exhaust? Some mods are easier to undue than others. (gutting cats, try putting that back together).

Enjoy, Scott.

would this HORRIBLY affect startup? my startups are bad. i have to crank a bit and use the gas pedal (2000 on rebuild!). i've seen a tad of smoke out the rear, but it was very thin and usually not noticeable. the car tries to die, so i have to keep my foot on the gas (on that note, i have a ported throttle body and the tb mod, whatever all that includes). i have a small glitch (hesitation) at 2500 when warm, but when cold, 2500 is almost a wall. it kinda throws me forward in my seat like using the breaks. when warm (or after a minute or two), the car idles fine.

i hope the thermosensor is in the same place on the N353 ecu as mine, N351. i only have the diagram for the convertible ecu.

Paint your wheels a new color, like red for example. or just do a visual check of everything under the car and make sure there are no leaks or little fury animals stuck somewhere you didnt know about.

ohm-meter test stuff, like you wanna know how much resistance there is from your door to your fender OHM TEST IT its just a good time accumulator
