Question what size are these hoses?

I'm replacing my vacuum hoses, but mazdatrix doesn't have the big ones like the bac and those in the pic (red). What size are they?

Mazdatrix has some 10mm silicone hose, would that work?

Those are all molded hoses. I would just take one of them to an auto parts store and see if they have something the right size. Prolly get off cheaper that way too.

At the speed shop I used to work at we always used Hose Techniques hoses, its great stuff and will certainly stand the test of time.

10mm is too small for that. As an example, a 10mm hose fits on the brake booster hardlines.

For anything that's formed, I go with new ones from the dealer. But that hose you circled is basically straight. Some generic heater hose will work.

No, that's part of the PCV system. But it is similar size to what I was talking about. The brake booster hardline comes out near the wiper motor, and connects to the LIM.

So it's on the passenger side and accessible with everything put back together (lim, uim, etc)? If so, I won't mess with it. I have a vac leak apparently somewhere under the lim.

Here, S4 NA pic. It goes from the firewall mounted hard-line to the back of the LIM. The hose is probably old and brittle, so it could be leaking too.

I meant uim, not lim. The leak is below the uim/vdi. (I think. )

ok, thanks. I won't mess with it yet. My brakes work fine (knock on wood. ).

Have you tried taking one end of the hose off and measuring the inner diameter with a set of 6" calipers. I would try that...

I guess if I had calipers I could do that.

Digital calipers are so useful. They're the first tool you should buy. Say you need to something off your car but you don't know what size sockets you need and the car is from from your tool box, instead of dragging all your tools to the car and testing sockets on the bolts until they fit...whip out your calipers and measure the bolt heads. Don't go posting on the internetz, starting new threads titled "Hey guys, what size are these bolts???" Go buy some calipers now.

Try your local parts store? There is nothing special about the hose shapes. I mean they're not preformed 90 degree bends. Go buy some straight fuel hose with the same inner diameter and replace them already...the ID is either 3/8" or 5/8"

wow, thanks. That's an amazing resource. not sure how I missed it.
I couldn't find the hoses on mazdatrix. If I had I wouldn't have started this thread.
