What size socket is used for the drain and fill plugs on manny trannies?
Hey guys, I went to change my manny tranny fluid today, I'm using valvoline 80w-90 cuz autozone didn't have redline, and I didn't have a socket to remove the drain plug, I have a ful SAE socket set cuz I never had to use metric before, my previous cars were a Trans Am and a Camaro so didn't have much use for them till now? So I was just wondering what size socket I would need for the drain plug and the size socket needed for the fill plug.

Don't know about the NA gearbox, but the Turbo gearbox uses square drive plugs for the two fill plugs and one of the drain plugs, which you can use an adjustable wrench on. The other drain plug is a 24mm hex.

on the NA the fill plug is square also.... unless you got the replacement in there that is kinda rare and it has a hex head, but i dont know what size. and the drain plug is also a 24mm. only one fill and one drain. and if you plan on doing this... remove the fill plug first. and also its recommended to replace it as the square head rounds off easily.
