Question what should I get? GTR or GTX?

I'm planning on selling my 7 and getting one from japan because my friend owns a company that imports them. But there are 89 GTR's and GTX's and I was searching and people were saying gtx's were the s4s and gtr's were s5's but then some people said gtr's were the base and gtx's were the super luxury ones then some people said the gtx's were the base and so on...

I was just wondering if anyone KNEW what the differences are and any advice on which one I should get?

I attached a picture of one that just went through a couple days ago that I could've bid on

Man, I dont know the answer. But to have a real right hand drive turbo FC form Japan here in the states, the question you have to ask yourself is: Does it matter?

yeah, except I live in Canada so if it's 15 years old...you just got a sick deal! It's still more than most TII's would go for but they have from like 20,000mi to 60,000 mi...absolutely no rust and it's J-spec so I'll be MaD FasT Yo!

just kidding...but I'm pretty stoked to get one

umm...I get it cost...because...but for it to be worth their while it would be around 13-15 cnd so...whatever that works out to be...x.75=9500-12000? but then you would have to worry about customs and all that jazz but if I were to register it here then you can import it and not have to make it pass inspection down there.

They just got a deadly 88 Silvia with pimping gold rims DVD/CD/NAV/TV in it and BOV, Turbo Timer and other stuff for not too much. You just bid on them and sometimes they have those things thrown in with them. They also just got a 89 Mercedes something AMG and there were like only 25 made or something crazy like that and it is so sweet...it has stock 18x10 rims or something like that...my friend doesn't stop rubbing it in either though but if I get my 7...I don't care

Wow thats a lot to pay for an FC. BUt the coolness factor is definatly there. I dunno. I would rather get a Silvia if I was going to get a J-spec car for that much.

whoever said s4 is gtr and s5 is gtx is wrong because there are s4 gtx's and s5 gtrs , i've seen them personally .there were alot of diff models thru out the fc life span the closest model the US has to japan is our turbo2 which is called the GT-Limited in japan . The gtr was like a base turbo and the gtx was fully loaded but without a sunroof and it had cloth interior.congrats if you get the car though it'll be sweet

Wrong, they're trim levels, not series designations. Check out this HyperRev scan of all the S5 models. From bottom to top they are GT, GT-R, GT-X, GT-X Limited, GT-X Limited followed by something I can't translate, and the Cabriolet (as the Convertible was called outside the US).

In Japan they made all sorts of Turbo II's with/without sunfoofs. But, I believe that all USDM Turbo models came with sunroof.

gt-x is the model with power mirrors/windows, no sunroof. GTR is base model. Next up is GTlimited with leather/sunroof/gadgets. Highest model is INFINI which is lighter, LSD, power nothing, race spec. S4's and S5's are all badged in these denominations.

****, for 14000, I can have a us street legal r32 GTR, hmmm rx7 or R32, no comparison skyline would spank it, plus the coolness factor for a RHD skyline over a RHD rx7 is also no comparison. DUDE, get a skyline $7500us to import, convert, ship + cost of R32 purchased. I am right now in the middle of sr20 in a coupe + silvia conversion, T04 turbo, forge pistons etc.. Selling for 12,000us, 300+hp. Skyline, here I come.

its the GT-X "Winning Limited", inspired by the 24hr Du LeMans 91', it is to be the rarest and latest design for the FC.
