what should i do ?? buyer cause problem
Look I don't care that it is not an N370 ECU, or an N374... n374 chipped ecu will work in the car, I have tested it with a Knightsports chipped ecu that belongs to a friend, I have also taken the N370 out of my other car and put it in this car and it runs 100%
The issue is simply you advertise a Chipped n374 ECU and send one that is not, n374 ecus are like 50 dollars because they do not work on USDM cars, pretty well documented. chipped ones are 100-200 dollars depending where you get them from. so I could not in good conscience sell this ecu to someone else for 100 dollars and tell them it was chipped because it is not. I don't really care.
If the wrong one was shipped in error, i will gladly send this one back (at my own cost) and await the proper one.
It is clear to me that this should not have been brought out to the public, not sure why it was, but in this case it is clear. It is not a chipped ECU because it still has the OEM Supply tracking Tag on it, the solder has not been messed with (all chipped ecus I have ever seen have sockets they are not resoldered dirrectly to the board). And because it is not a chipped ECU it is not what he advertised in the thread which is what it clearly states in his For sale thread. This is the end of this as far as I am concerned there are other venues for this type of discussion, and this is not it.

Look,
I have been arround the forums a long time I have owned rx-7's for over ten years, i have never tried to scam anyone. I have helped many people out by sending them parts for free.
The problem here is i have heard of JDM ECU's not working in certain S5 CAD/US cars. I tried it and figured this was the issue. I know N370 Ecu's work because I have one that works. I have two other N374 ECU's in my house already and they both have the same issue with not controlling fuel for the rear rotor.
Now a better description of the car it came out of might help.
Did the car it came out of have a secondary fuel control? Like SAFC, or Blitz FCON? If not what size of primary and secondary injectors did it have?

99% of n374 wont work for replacement on n370. (many confirmed
to me on the forum, ask Misterstyx69 if you have questions
) if you knew this, then its no mistake.
i wrote a short list of what the ecu was tricked to do on the
thread. you didnt ask any questions for deeper
informations on the ecu. you simply asked me if i still had the
ecu.
the ecu came from a bp engine, with the equivalent of a t04 at
12 psi, additional injectors ( all where high imp 550cc), and
was running a triple plate unsprung clutch kit. . it only
had a safc2 on it when we got it. we bought the car, drove (beat
the living hell out of it) it for 1 hour to my mechanic's garage
and parted it out because RHD are not plateable anymore in
quebec, so we got the car for almost nothing. i have kept the
engine, but changed the whole setup (haltech, wideband, 3 puck
clutch kit).
honestly, i had around 4 persons interested in the ecu but they
were from the states, so for me it was easier to send to someone
from canada. so if you put it up for sale... youll be able to
have more then what you paid for. i dont have theyre
username cause i delete all the pms i dont need cause my pm box
is over 90% full ...
you can ask on the forum i have never sold anything thats non
working, ask Dave (misterstyx) who drove down for a complete
exhaust, Maxim (Maxvol) whom i met in toronto and bought my IC
elbow for the add inj, he paid me in person so that when i get
home 2-3 days after i would ship him the part.
NismoConvert who bought my turbo + manifold kit , Reisama
that lives near me who bought a t2 transm, driveshaft, rear
seats, strut bar. thats about those since they have the
trader score. i have sold many other parts on other forums. i
have owned 7 fc since 2004. i parted out a rb25det powered
240sx i had in the nissan forums...
and when i bought something that was not the right thing i
needed, and was MY mistake, i would manage to re-sell the
part. not ask for refund (not on used parts) ... brand new
stuff from online shops, even then it was pretty harsh to do,
andonly got Ari (rx7.com ) to swap a part since i ordered for s5
and needed s4.
i have started a thread on that matter on the forum, and
everybody said the same thing. that the buyer is responsable for
what he buys, and if its a misreading error that i shouldnt have
to be penalized for it.

99% of REAL chipped n374 ecus WILL run a USDM factory turbo car.
However the ECU you shipped me is for one not chipped.. and thus will not run a USDM factory car 100%
I have pictures to prove it I compared it to one of the N374 Virgin ECU's I have and another with a knightsports chip. The one you sent me is untouched factory n374 ECU. You add stated it was chipped.
And it is clearly not. So either way what you sent me is not what you advertised it as. And as you suggested I can not sell it to someone else as a "chipped" ecu because that is simply not the case.

Look,
Here is the deal you advertised a Chipped ECU which would have worked, the car works perfectly with an N370 ECU and a Knightsports Chipped ECU. The other N374 ECU's I have are stock OEM not chipped and do not RUN USDM cars.
The engine it is being installed on is not ported it is 100% OEM with TMIC and Air box.
Lol... and you think that a thread from what two years ago still applies to the car I have now? You can be an internet sleuth all you like, but the cars run perfectly when coupled with a "real" chipped ECU, or an N370 ECU so it is not the car.
It is not exactly what you advertise what you advertised was a chipped ECU and that it definitely is not.
This is rediculous man, you had no idea the ECU was chipped or not! you advertised it that way and it is not, just own up.
I will tell you what you refund the 96$ I will ship the ECU back to you at my cost, and you can sell your Non chipped ECU to the four other buyers you had lined up.

its getting annoying....
the ecu was on a functionnal highly modified s5 rhd.
and you are putting it on a USDM STOCK car.... what do you expect... its not chipped to work magically with USDM cars. its for the mods done to the car. ( probably the same kind of thing that RTEK does).
my mechanic told me you just have to readjust your timing and it will work properply....
you kept changing your story, and try to find excuses.
im happy to see where the paypal dispute will bring this...
but reading what everyone posted. i know i am not in the wrong.

Notice the blue socket on both of the companies that modify the ECUs with an aftermarket chip. But if you "think" it was chipped and did not verify that it was then it must have been chiped.

RTEK ECU's have a socket replacing the OEM chip which is still intact, so does Knighsports, so does Panspeed, and I am sure anybody else that chips these ecus.

Notice the blue socket on both of the companies that modify the ECUs with an aftermarket chip. But if you "think" it was chipped and did not verify that it was then it must have been chiped.

anyways, seeing the fact that you dont admitt any part of responsabilities and seems to say that only I am in the wrong.
and YOU decided to elevate de dispute to a claim thru paypal....
i am not wasting any more time then you already made me waste.
thansk you guys, for your 'help' and opinions....
but like they say, good guys finish last...
im pretty sure paypal will give reasons to someone whos trying to have is way because he made a mistake in his purchase.
MODS CAN CLOSE THIS THREAD.
My 2 cents:
Ad clearly says it's chipped. If the ECU sent was completely factory stock, then yes, that is fraud.
If it can be proven that it is chipped, then the buyer made a mistake and the seller should have no further responsibility to the buyer.
I will admit though, that the buyer drew a lot of suspicion in his first e-mail when he was angry that it was not a N370 ECU even though the pictures clearly state N374.
